Speaking to the media, Kokrajhar SP Rajen Singh said: “We should conduct talent hunts here as there is a lot of talent here, but we have not been able to take them ahead properly. So, we will conduct talent hunts here. For promotion of sports, we have contacted the Bhutan National Shooting Association and we will conduct a 10 metre air –pistol and air-rifle Indo-Bhutan friendship shooting championships towards the end of February. They have confirmed that they will be able to come towards the end of February through a phone call.”
“To promote the sport of shooting in Kokrajhar and especially the BTC area we have taken some steps. Firstly, among the school students, we will provide coaching camp in the end of January where the 1986 Seoul Asian games bronze medalist Joydip Das will be present and will impart the training himself”, Singh added.
