Kripanath Mallah new deputy speaker of Assam Assembly

Guwahati (Assam), September 26, 2018:

BJP MLA Kripanath Mallah was on Wednesday elected unopposed as the Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly.

Apart from him, nobody else had filed nomination. The Deputy Speaker’s post was lying vacant for the past few months following the resignation of Dilip Paul, who is also from the BJP.

Mallah represents Barak Valley’s Ratabari seat in the Assembly.
