DHING: The last term of the BJP-led government in Assam was just a trailer, the real cinema is yet to begin.

This was stated by BJP bigwig Himanta Biswa Sarma addressing an election meeting for Batadrova BJP candidate Angoorlata Deka, here today.

Claiming that the Sarbananda Sonowal government could get only three years to work before anti-CAA agitation and COVID-19 outbreak, “we practically got three years time to work.”

“Despite the short span of time, we have achieved so much. But, that was just the trailer, the real cinema is yet to begin. It will be in the next term of five years. Just imagine, how much will we deliver in full five years,” Sarma said.

Promising that the government was planning to build a four-lane road from Dhing to Nagaon at a cost of Rs 300 crore as part of the Bardowa beautification and tourism development programme, Sarma said: “it’ll be Himanta Biswa Sarma and Angoorlata Deka who will be by your side at your time of distress, not Priyanka Gandhi.”

“Anyway, Angoorlata is a far better actor than Priyanka Gandhi. Angoorlata can be present a lot of dramas and films, but Priyanka Gandhi doesn’t even know how to act. She came to pluck tea in the month of March, when plucking season starts in April,” Sarma mocked.

“And, they say BJP spreads hatred. If BJP promotes hatred, how could everybody get treatment during COVID-19? How could everyone get free admission in colleges irrespective of religion? How could everybody get free rice? How could everybody get Orunodoi scheme benefits?” he added.
