Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) General Secretary Ranjan Bora on Monday sent a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of Assam asking for issuing of orders for “removal of existing Government Hoardings, Government Advertisement/Wall Writing/Poster etc.”
With the model code of conduct in force since the Chief Election Commissioner notifying the dates of Election in the country, the opposition party is up in arms against the numerous Government advertisements and hoardings across the state and have urged the conducting body to issue directives to remove the banners which could allegedly influence the outcome of the upcoming elections.
