The price of LPG cylinder has been hiked for the third time in one month much to the chagrin of consumers.
According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the increase in prices of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG cylinders is mainly due to changes in international prices and foreign exchange fluctuations.
In Guwahati, an LPG cylinder had cost Rs 804 in July and Rs 840 in August. The price has now gone up to Rs 871.50.
The shooting prices have left people, particularly the lower middle class, in a high and dry. Several housewives in Guwahati told InsideNe that they were frustrated as the Narendra Modi government kept increasing the prices of LPG cylinders as well as petrol and diesel despite promising good days.
