In a shocking development, a Madrassa teacher has been taken into police custody for a long list of criminal records.

The madrassa teacher in Assam’s Nalbari district was arrested for carrying a hand-made gun on Friday. The teacher, who is employed with Barkhetri Pakuwa Milan Senior Madrassa, has been identified as Ali Akbar Hussain.

Hussain was arrested from Nalbari district’s Mukalmua area and has been taken into police custody for further interrogation.

According to sources, along with the pistol, police also recovered three cases of live ammunition.

Speaking to InsideNE, Jayanta Barman, Officer-In-Charge of Mukalmua Police Station, stated that the police team got information regarding doubtful people in the area. The accused teacher is the head master of the school.

Barman further said," The accused madrassa teacher during the enquiry confessed that he gets threatening calls due to which he use to carry the pistol."

The police further suspected the teacher to be involved in other illegal happenings.
