The third prime (main) accused in the murder of Assam Police Commando on Sunday night has been arrested from his hideout today by the Tinsukia police.
The accused has been identified as Bijut Chutia of Dengka Borgaon.
It is to be mentioned that the two accused, identified as Mintu Chutiya and Bitupan Chutiya involved in the brutal killing of the Assam Police Commando, Girish Dutta in Makum of Tinsukia district have been arrested on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
The thirty-seven-year-old Girish Dutta was brutally murdered by a group of miscreants in Makum of Tinsukia district. Dutta was attacked with sharp weapons while he was returning from a programme, Kendriya Adhibeshan of Asom Moran Sabha and Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad at Tingrai, Tinsukia on the night of June 2.
The sensational incident took place near the office of the 2nd Assam Police Battalion of Makum.
When Girish Dutta was returning to his home in Ashok Nagar from Tingrai, he got into a heated argument with a group of unidentified people over an accident on NH-38, reported local media quoting investigating officers.
While he left the spot after the incident, the unidentified group of men followed Dutta to his home, dragged him out and stabbed him to death on the road in front of his father.
According to Tinsukia locals, Dutta was attacked while he was returning back home after attending the Kendriya Adhibeshan of Asom Moran Sabha and Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad.
As per reports, Girish resides in Guwahati with his wife and a daughter. He visited his village home after one year to see the newly built house along with his wife.
