Maligaon Murder Accused arrested in Cooch Behar

Guwahati: Police have arrested a person from Cooch Behar in connection with the recent Maligaon murder case.

As per sources, the arrest was made based on intelligence input and thorough investigation of the case where a man was beaten to death. 

The arrested person has been identified as Biki Sahani. He was identified based on the footage from the CCTV.

Sahani has been accused of killing a night watchman in Guwahati's Maligaon area for unknown reasons. 

The deceased was identified as Tarun Deka of Mangaldai who over the years was working as a watchman in the Maligaon area. He was killed on November 5.

Police on examining the footage were assured that the accused was drunk and he had allegedly killed the man after an argument. Deka was beaten to death with a wooden baton.
