Guwahati, November 1, 2018:

A man was attacked with a knife and thrown out of a moving train in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the attack on the victim Safiruddin, who hails from Samaguri area in Nagaon district, was perpetrated near the Diphu railway station. He was travelling by the Dimapur-Guwahati BG Express. It was not immediately known as to why he was attacked.

The reports said, the victim, who sustained grievous injuries in the attack, was admitted to the civil hospital in Diphu.

The police have detained two persons – Pratap Barman and Ganesh Tanti – in connection with the incident.
