Man Electrocuted to Death in Assam’s Margherita

Guwahati, July 26, 2019:

Tension prevails at Margherita Sub- division after an elderly man died after being electrocuted on Friday.

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Austo Bahadur Lama (55 years), a resident of Powai Bon Gaon under Margherita Sub Division who went out from his house to work at the Tea Garden. Unfortunately, a 220 Volt live wire got in contact with Lama got electrocuted.

The local residents of Powai Bon Gaon alleged that several times complaints have been made to APDCL Authority and Employees to clear up the live wire from the roadside and jungle areas but they don't give any importance following which an untimely death took one life.

Meanwhile, the Authority of APDCL came on the spot and assured before the public that they shall pay the compensation to bereaved family members of the deceased.

Digboi Police visited the spot and send the dead body for post mortem. Further investigation is on.
