GUWAHATI: A businessman named Subhash Chahu, a resident of Srirampuria village No. 1 under the Jonai subdivision, was allegedly shot by a group of unidentified miscreants and sustained severe injuries on May 10.

In a major crackdown, within a span of just 24 hours, Dhemaji police arrested six members of the Liberal Democratic Council of Misingland (LDCML) following the Srirampuria, Jonai firing incident.

The police also recovered three pistols, three magazines, several rounds of ammunition, one car, and one motorcycle from their procession.

All six cadres were involved in the murder of the businessman.

The arrested cadres of LDCML have been identified as--Gobinda Pegu, Debiram Pegu, Manu Patir, Brojen Doley, Biswa Doley, and Kingpin Banikumar Kumbang.

On May 10 the incident took place around 9.30 pm when a group of miscreants entered the house of Subhash Chahu and ordered him to open his shop looking for cigarettes.

According to reports, the criminals demanded money as well, but when Subhash refused to pay , they shot him in his leg and head seriously injuring him.
