Meet the richest and poorest candidates in Phase-I of Assam election

Let’s check out the for the richest and the poorest candidate of Assam who will be contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in Assam during Phase-I.

As per the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) release, the richest Independent candidate has topped the overall list as far as their finances are concerned.

The top position of the finance list has been booked by the independent candidate of Kaliabor, Jiten Gogoi with Rs 9 crore. He has a total asset of Rs 9,03,03,570. Jiten Gogoi has left behind all the party candidates in this race.

Whereas, CPI candidate from Jorhat Constituency Kanak Gogoi has been listed as the poorest candidate with assets worth Rs. 23,894.

The disparity of income among the two political candidates is perhaps a reflection of the disparity in our country India.
