Meet the 'vaccine man' driving inoculation against COVID-19 in Assam's Dhubri

Mehtab Uddin Ahmed, Dhubri: Dipankar Mazumder, a youth from Dhubri town has been going to the remotest parts of the district to create awareness about the COVID-19 vaccination process and precautions that need to be taken to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Mazumder has till now succeeded in convincing more than 100 persons who have less knowledge about the vaccine such as barbers, grocery shop workers, sweet shop workers, roadside tea stall workers, rickshaw pullers, hawkers, and abnormal people to visit different vaccination centers of the district to take their jab.

There are many places in the district where people are either totally ignorant about the vaccination process or they are scared of taking the vaccines, because of many rumours and misconceptions about the COVID-19 vaccines that are circulating around, said Mazumder who comes out of his home early in the morning in his scooty to bust the myths against vaccination and escort the people to get vaccinated.

Mazumder added that after getting as many as 100 people to get the jabs, he has taken the initiative to get the 2nd jab to be completed too at a priority level as it will be beneficial in "breaking the chain'.

Meanwhile, this selfless service of Mazumder has been appreciated by many in Dhubri town and many have also come out to join Mazumder in his mission of eradicating coronavirus from the district.
