Assam: Govt hands over Rs 2 lakh for treatment of BJP veteran Dhruba Kumar Sen

DHUBRI: Parimal Shuklavaidya, the Minister of Forest and Environment, Excise, and PHE of Assam today visited Dhubri to review the work of various departments in the district.

On behalf of Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, Suklabaidya handed over a cheque of ₹ two lakhs to former MLA of Dhubri Dhruba Kumar Sen who has been ailing for a while.

Dhruba is one of the veteran leaders of Assam BJP and the first MLA of BJP from Brahmaputra Valley.

“He has been a guardian figure and all his dedication and service towards the party will continue inspiring all karyakartas” said Parimal Shuklavaidya, paying tribute to him.

The minister sat on a review meeting with the department officials after handing over the cheque. He stated that the encroachment and deforestation is a serious issue in the entire state and the department has been instructed to look into the matter in a serious way.
