DHUBRI: A minor girl from Dhubri District of Assam, who was illegally trafficked and sold into an abusive marriage has been recovered from Rajasthan and brought back home on Saturday.
Based on an FIR filed by the girl's father a team of Dhubri police officers along with Anowar Hussain Ahmed, Legal Cell in Incharge of the Anti Corruption and Crime Control Committee (ACCCC), travelled to Rajasthan and successfully bring the victim back on Saturday.
She would be produced before the Concern for Working Children (CWC) on Monday.

According to the FIR filed by her father, the victim girl went missing in January last year.
"The girl was rescued from Rajasthan's Barmer area, where she was sold into an abusive marriage and had a one-year-old child, more than a year later," advocate Ahmed said.
The minor girl, according to sources, fell in love with a local boy who enticed her to elope with him.
"The local boy later took her to Rajasthan, offering to marry her and settle there with work, but he sold her to a family in the Barmer district of Rajasthan," said police.
