Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Badruddin Ajmal during a recent speech lashed out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government, said that the minority women will not be safe if the saffron unit returns to power.

Addressing his supporters at a recent rally, Ajmal complained that the BJP has caused insecurity and distress to the minority communities in Assam and elsewhere. In his speech, Ajmal also highlighted issues such as the Babri Masjid demolition and Triple Talaq controversies to make a case for himself. He further insinuated that voting for the BJP party will aggravate the safety concerns of the womenfolk as they could be harassed or molested.

Ajmal trained his crosshairs at the BJP and said that it does not care about the well-being of Muslim citizens. The Dhubri MP also slammed the Sarbananda Sonowal-led Government for the rise in the prices of essential commodities -- one of the raging issues in Assam at the moment.

The AIUDF and the Congress are expected to band together in the forthcoming 2021 elections to defeat the BJP. The leaders of the two parties have also called forth the new regional parties -- such as the 'Asom Jatiya Parishad' and 'Raijor Dal' -- to strengthen the grand alliance ahead of the polls.

The political enmity between the AIUDF and BJP is a tale as old as time itself. Just yesterday, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had claimed that AIUDF supporters had chanted "Pakistan Zindabad" while welcoming Mr. Ajmal at the Silchar Airport. However, the AIUDF has said that the supporters were, in fact, hailing AIUDF MLA Aziz Khan.

Social media giant Facebook has flagged a social media post shared by Himanta Biswa Sarma wherein he had claimed that Badruddin Ajmal supporters were chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” while welcoming the AIUDF Chief at the Silchar airport. However, the controversial viral video is yet to be taken down. The video has also been posted on Twitter, which is yet to take any action.
