AIZAWL: The Mizoram BJP has requested Chief Minister Zoramthanga to resolve the state's boundary dispute with Assam and Tripura.
The Mizoram BJP unit wrote to the CM on Monday, saying that the Centre was interested in resolving the northeastern states' boundary disputes.
It claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged the northeastern states to address inter-state border disputes through bilateral dialogue on at least two occasions.

"The Mizo National Front (MNF), led by Zoramthanga and part of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), must find a way to resolve the border conflict with Assam and Tripura while the BJP is in power at the Centre and in the two neighbouring states," said the letter.
Top leaders of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church, the state's largest denomination had previously requested Zoramthanga to resolve border conflicts with neighbouring states.
Mizoram shares a 164.6-kilometer interstate border with Assam and a 66-kilometer border with Tripura.
The border dispute between Mizoram and Assam has been a long-standing issue that has yet to be resolved.
Unidentified persons torched to two abandoned farmhouses in the area claimed by both states on June 5, the most recent border confrontation between Mizoram and Assam.
