RANGIYA: Bhabesh Kalita, sitting MLA of Assam assembly has been appointed as a state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president.
Kalita was appointed as the BJP president by the party's National President Jagat Prakash Nadda today.
This was informed by an official notification issued by the party.

The official notification read: "BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Bhabesh Kalita, MLA as State President of Assam BJP."
Bhabesh Kalita will replace Ranjeet Kumar Dass, former state BJP president who has become a minister in the newly-formed government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma.
After being appointed as the state president of the party Kalita expressed his gratitude towards primie minister Narendra Modi, minister J.P Nadda and all party members.
The last time Kalita was state minister in the Former Assam CM Sonowal cabinet.
He is a two-time MLA from the Rangiya district in the state.
