Guwahati, May 14, 2019:

Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his comment saying that he had used e-mail service and a digital camera in the 1980s.

Tarun Gogoi slammed the PM saying that he has lost his mind out of worry for the results of the Lok Sabha elections. “He is frustrated, and doesn’t know what he’s saying,” he added.

The former CM said that the Modi’s lies have reached heights as he claimed using a digital camera in the year 1987-88. But in reality, the digital camera was not available in India at that time. Gogoi also took a swipe at Assam's current CM and alleged that officials follow the orders of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as there are lot corruptions going on within the government. He said that this corrupt money is being used in the election campaign.

It is to be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent interview stated that he used e-mail service and took photographs using a digital camera in 1988. Narendra Modi in the interview said that he first used a digital camera in 1987-’88. He said that he clicked a picture on his camera of a rally of BJP leader L K Advani and transmitted the photo to Delhi, and the photo was published in colour the next day.

In reality, the first ever government person to use modern internet and send a mail was former US president Bill Clinton during his presidency. On the other hand, Nikon sold its first digital camera only in 1987, critics claimed.
