Guwahati, May 7, 2019:

Before the final NRC draft is about to be published (July 31), Kokrajhar Lok Sabha MP Naba Kr. Sarania has requested the AASU and ABSU leaders to withdraw their "fake objections."

While addressing the Press at the Dispur Press Club in Guwahati, Sarania has claimed that many people have been pressurized by these organizations to file false complaints regarding the NRC and the MP has asked the Government to withdraw these objections.

"The ones who made the complaints themselves are not aware due to what reasons they made the complaints. If they made the complaints unknowingly, I urge them to withdraw these false objections."

Sarania also said while the complainants themselves did not present themselves at the hearing, the ones who had been been the subjects of the complaints presented themselves.

Sarania has also said that AAMSU had approached Sarania to present the case of a person who had been pressured by such organizations to file objections.

Sarania has also alleged that the loopholes in the NRC process is politically-motivated.

Meanwhile, Sarania has expressed hope of winning the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha election and stated that only tampering with the voting machines can enable a victory for the Bodo People's Front (BPF) candidate Pramila Rani Brahma.
