PROTEST IN BATADRABA AFTER THE GHASTLY RAPE AND MURDER OF A MINOR GIRL

The alleged rape and murder of a 13 year old girl in Nagaon district of Assam has shocked the entire nation. The class five student was gang raped and then set ablaze by a group of three youths at Lalung goan at Batadraba in Nagaon on Friday noon after she returned from the school. The local people of Batadraba today vandalised the house of the main accused Zakir Hussain. Based on the statement of the victim, the police has arrested two accused so far while Zakir Hussain is still on the run. Local people and students also blocked the Dhing Garkaptani Path today since morning. The Circle Officer and Additional Superintendant of Police of Nagaon rushed to the spot and assured the public that those involved in the heinous crime would be booked within 48 hours. Meanwhile, the agitated villagers have lifted the blockade after assurances from the district administration and police.

The body of the victim will be brought to her home from Guwahati later today. The police and administration have taken all precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident after the body reach home.
