Guwahati, June 26, 2019:

The Indian Armed Forces have released a press release reacting to the outcry over the arrest of a suspected NDFB (National Democratic Front of Boroland) lady cadre, Rishima Narzary in Assam. The NDFB (S) themselves released a statement refuting the woman's involvement with the banned outfit.

The army maintains that the arrest was made on the night of 16 Jun 2019 based on corroborated intelligence and a search operation was launched by joint task force of Police and army in village Samudisha No 3 village in Chirang district of Assam, in which a locally trained NDFB (S) lady cadre Rishima Narzary was arrested.

In a press release, the armed forced maintain that during a search operation, arms, ammunition and other incriminating material were recovered from the lady cadre, which allegedly proves her affiliation to NDFB (S).

Saoraigwra, the President of NDFB (S) had issued a press release blaming Security Forces for wrongly implicating a poor lady.

However, the army maintains that the allegations levelled are completely baseless with devious motives.

The release also states that the arrest of Rishima narzary has unsettled NDFB (S) and delivered a blow to their illegitimate activities in the region, causing panic among the top leadership of NDFB (S).

In the communique, the armed forces have further alleged that the intention of NDFB (S) top leadership in reacting to this operation is maliciously aimed at tarnishing the image of Security Forces and perpetrates 'misleading propaganda among the masses.'
