The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO) has reopened four radial gates from its Doyang hydro power project in Nagaland’s Wokha to release excess waters.
As per official reports, the water level has risen up to 324.20 metres.
The Golaghat district administration in Assam has asked the people to remain alert.
Large parts of the district were inundated by the surging waters of Doyang river after NEEPCO allegedly released excess water from its reservoir without issuing any prior warning.
