    Baskandi (Assam), Aug 15

    The Dar-ul-Ulum University in Cachar, which is the only Muslim University of the Northeast, celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with pomp and gaiety on Wednesday.

    The students, faculty and other people associated with the university started the celebration early in the morning. Several programmes were held during the day as part of the celebration.
