GUWAHATI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has moved the Gauhati High Court challenging Akhil Gogoi's verdict by the special NIA court, which has acquitted Gogoi and his associates on July 1, on Tuesday.
This was confirmed by Krishna Gogoi, Akhil Gogoi's lawyer, to InsideNE.
"We will appear before the high court whenever they are going fix a date for hearing. If one of both parties does not get satisfied by the High Court then might move to the Supreme Court as well. This usually goes like that," said advocate Krishna Gogoi.

NIA has challenged the verdicts of Chabua and Chandmari cases against Akhil Gogoi, from a special NIA court has acquitted Gogoi and his associates Dhajya Konwar, Manas Konwar and Bitu Sonowal, as NIA failed to framed charges against the accused.
Akhil Gogoi was arrested in December 2019 from Jorhat under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967 for his alleged role in violent anti-CAA protest and nexus with Maoist elements.
