GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that there is no shortage of oxygen supply for treatment of COVID-19 patients in the state.
Addressing a press conference at the conference room of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital here, Sarma said that the state currently have 288.19 metric tonnes of oxygen.
Moreover, the minister said that oxygen supply units will soon be established in all hospitals of the Assam.
On the other hand, Sarma said that the moderately critical patients will be treated with Remdesivir injections, and the state currently has over 12,000 vials of its doses.

Meanwhile, the manufacturers of Remdevisir injections have slashed the price amid its shortage. The announcement came after the centre held a meeting with all-existing manufacturers of the drug to discuss the increase in production and supply and also to reduce the price of Remdesivir injection.
The injection will now cost in between Rs 899 and Rs 3,490 per dose.
