Nogaon CJM court summons Rajen Gohain

Guwahati, December 27, 2018:
The Nagaon CJM court summoned Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain in connection with the alleged rape of a 24-year-old woman.
The CJM court of Nagaon instructed Gohain to appear before the court on January 8, 2019 for which the summoned notice was issued on November 28.
It is to be noted that based on a complaint filed by a 24-year-old married woman, the Assam Police registered a case against Rajen Gohain for allegedly raping and threatening her.
The case (No 2592/18) was registered under IPC Sections 417, 376 and 506.
Later on Gohain also filed a complaint alleging the woman and her family of blackmailing him.
However, after a few days of controversy, Gohain claimed that the case against they had a mutual understanding and the case was withdrawn.
On the other hand, the Nagaon District and Sessions Judge Court has directed to start trial on the rape charges against Gohain in Nagaon court in the month of November.
