'Non-Bodo Protection Committee' Demands Govt to Take Action Against Abductions and Extortions in BTAD

Guwahati, October 15, 2019:

The Non-Bodo Surakshya Samiti on Tuesday condemned acts of extortion and kidnappings in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area ahead of the Council elections (to be held early next year).

In a press meet jointly held by the Non-Bodo Surakshya Samiti and the People's Protection Party (PPP) held in Guwahati, the organizations said that a tense situation prevails in the BTAD area in the lead up to the election, and demanded the Government to take immediate action to resolve the problems. The organizations also demanded the State Government to put the culprits of these unlawful activities behind bars.

The BTAD addressed the 'spray man'/child lifter panic in the BTAD area. Expressing immense grief over the situation, the Non Bodo Protection and the People's Protection Party, the party said that it is part of a greater political conspiracy.

The parties also demanded the Government to take immediate action action the 'sprayman' and other perpetrators behind it.
