Northeast leaders stage CAB protest in front of Sansad Bhawan

Guwahati, February 6, 2019:

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Ripun Bora, along with a delegation of ministers from the North East, staged a protest against the amendment of the Citizenship Act on Wednesday in front of the Sansad Bhawan in New Delhi.

The ministers engaged in sloganeering such as “Save Assam, Save Northeast" and "Save Meghalaya, Save Northeast".

They urged the government to take back the bill and scrap it for the sake of North East’s indigenous people who are facing the threat of losing their identity and being turned into minorities in their our lands.

It may be mentioned that Bora visited New Delhi to meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi along with a delegation of All Assam Students’ Union, North East Students’ Organization, Hiren Gohain’s team of intellectuals and the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti.
