Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from Assam continue to speak in lines of their party’s adamant approach to implement the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 at any cost amid the growing agitation and protests against it in Assam as it is BJP’s Batadrawa MLA Agoorlata Deka now who have spoken for the Bill
After Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma speaking in support of the Bill, former Assamese actor said that the controversial Bill doesn’t pose any threat to Assam.
“The Bill once implemented would cause no threat for the indigenous people of the state and cause no harm to the Assamese culture,” the MLA said.
She further reiterated that CM Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma have already explained the Bill to the people of Assam and she too believes that its amendment won’t harm the interest of indigenous people of the State.
Angoorlata Deka further added that the BJP Government would never hurt the culture and language of Assam.
