NPP welcomes Retd. IPS Dilip Bora as Assam State Convenor

Guwahati, March 3, 2019:

The National People’s Party (NPP) is on a roll. After delivering a strong performance in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills Council elections, the results of which were declared yesterday, the party has set its sights on performing well in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The NPP, which has a strong presence throughout the Northeast, is looking to expand its influence to Assam. Retired IPS Officer Dilip Bora has been appointed as Convenor in the state of Assam and Meghalaya CM and NPP President Conrad K Sangma have posted a picture on Facebook where Bora is being welcomed into the NPP. The caption of the photo reads: “Retired IPS officer Sh. Dilip Bora appointed as Convenor for the State of Assam. Welcome to #NPP”.

It is to be mentioned that Bora has confirmed to InsideNE that the NPP expects to field candidates in all 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam and all the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Northeast.
