‘NRC draft publication not to affect Indo-Bangla ties’

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla has assured Bangladesh that it has nothing to worry following publication of the complete draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam. He also said it will not affect friendly relations between India and Bangladesh.

Shringla said this during his talks with Bangladeshi Road Transport Minister Ubaidul Qader in Dhaka on Thursday.

The Indian diplomat explained to the Bangladeshi Minister that it was only a draft and not final NRC, and that the entire exercise has been carried out under the supervision of Supreme Court of India.
