Indian army troopers and personnel of Assam Police on April 24 jointly apprehended a cadre belonging to the Isaak-Muivah faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) near Lalpahara in Tinsukia District of Assam.
Based on a specific input, the joint team launched a search operation in the area. During the operation, the troops apprehended the cadre who has been identified as Self-Styled Private Raju Bramo, who is a resident of Shisupani village in Golaghat district of Assam.
During the operation, the troops also recovered one .22 pistol and four live rounds of ammunition from the NSCN-IM cadre. The apprehended person along with recovered weapon has been handed over to the Lekhapani Police Station for further investigation.

Earlier, in another operation on April 23, troops of the Indian army also apprehended a "senior cadre" of the NSCN (IM) near Titabor in Jorhat District of Assam.
Based on a specific input, the troops launched a swift operation and established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post in the area. During checking of the vehicles, the troops apprehended the cadre who was trying to escape from the check post He has been identified as "Major" Nyaoba Konyak alias Nweypa. Konyak hails from Ukha village in the Mon district of Nagaland. It is suspected that the cadre was actively involved in planning and conduct of extortion and kidnapping activities in Upper Assam.
During the operation, the troops recovered two American manufactured Beretta pistols alongwith two magazines.
The apprehended individuals along with recovered weapons have been handed over to Titabor Police Station for further investigation.
