Tingalibam Army Camp under the aegis of Dao Division conducted a successful operation on September 21 and busted an active network of NSCN (U) cadres and overground workers operating out of Namtola in Charaideo district of Assam.

Based on specific information from intelligence sources regarding the whereabouts of an NSCN (U) cadre in Namtola, the Tingalibam Army Camp launched an operation and apprehended an individual. He has been recognized as self-styled Lieutenant, Wangtah Konyak. The 39-year-old revealed that he hails from Tizit in Nagaland's Mon district.
The detained individual during interrogation revealed his close knit association with the banned insurgent outfits.

The cadre is known to have been actively involved in extortion activities in Mon as well as Charaideo. He is also known to have provide logistic support and to have sheltered the cadres of insurgent outfits, in addition to trafficking of arms, ammunition and explosives between Assam and Nagaland.
