One Upper Division Assistant at Deputy Inspector of Schools office in Tezpur was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe on Wednesday.
According to reports, Jagannath Saikia was caught red-handed from his office while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from one Bhashkar Jyoti Nath in return for clearing a file regarding leave encashment of his father who had retired in 2011.
The accused had reportedly demanded Rs 6,000 from Nath, who then approached Anti-corruption Bureau, which laid a trap.
Another accused, Dipak Singh, was also detained. Further investigation is on.
