TINSUKIA: One person was killed while as many as 10 people were injured in a horrific road mishap in Assam's Tinsukia district this afternoon.

Although the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained so far.

According to sources, the accident took place in the Chandmari area of Tinsukia when one Bolero pick-up van bearing registration no (AS23CC6608) collided with an auto-rickshaw.

On getting information Tinsukia Police rushed to the spot and the injured people were taken to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for medical treatment.

On the other hand, the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.

Locals told the media that road accidents occur frequently in the area, so they demanded that the government establish speed bumps on the roads of the area to prevent such road mishaps in the near future.
