Opium seized in Guwahati Railway Station

Guwahati, March 20, 2019:

A team of the train checking party of Guwahati GRPS apprehended three persons from Indrani Express (Dibrugarh-Kolkata) and recovered 6 kgs of suspected opium while the train was at platform number 2 in Guwahati railway station.

The accused have been identified as Md. Nazimuddin Choudhury, Md. Hussain Ahmed and Kandan Kumar Choudhury.

On interrogation, the accused informed that they boarded in the train in Dimapur and were proceeding to Malda (West Bengal). A case under the NDPS Act is being registered and will be produced in the court.
