'Pan Shop Association' Bans Sale of Gutkhas and Zarda in Guwahati

Guwahati, November 18, 2019:

This time, it is not the government but the Pan Shop Association which has has banned the sale of Gutka and Zarda in Guwahati. The association has reportedly 'banned' the sale of these substances after taking into account the Government's negligence towards the health hazards caused by these substances.

Keeping in view of the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine-based chewing products like gutka and zarda on human health, the association on Sunday during a meeting took the decision.

According to the decision taken, they have put a ban on the distribution and sale of these products in the city, which, they claim, puts creates a lot of health hazards for the consumers.

Reportedly, the pan shop association has criticized the government for neglecting the health issues of the common people, and for not taking any action in this regard.
