The Congress in Assam has alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of violating the model code of conduct for the Panchayat Polls.
Speaking on the issue, Debabrata Saikia, leader of opposition said that the BJP members are violating the model code of conduct. He alleged that the BJP has deployed their party workers for various purposes such as verification, filling forms and collecting photo of the houses of prospective beneficiaries of the government schemes.
He alleged that the BJP is also collecting money from various sources and this money is being used for paying bills of their helicopters and campaigns.
“The BJP workers are also threatening other candidates which can be termed as a clear case of violation of the model code of conduct”, he added.
