Peasants’ body demands Rajen Gohain’s sacking

The Krishak Sramik Unnayan Parishad (KSUP) has demanded the sacking of Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain following the allegation by a woman that he had raped her in Nagaon.

The KSUP on Sunday alleged that Gohain sent some men to threaten the woman’s family as she had leveled the rape charges against him.

The organisation appealed to the police to ensure that the woman and her family members remained safe as there were possibilities of them being attacked by the miscreants.

They claimed that in the 1990s, Gohain had spent a night in jail after a case was registered against him with Jajori Police Station for allegedly raping a woman.
