Guwahati, September 22, 2019:

Petrol prices across the country have risen drastically in the last six days after a massive strike at Saudi Arabian oil facilities shook up the oil markets.

In the national capital New Delhi, which is the benchmark for national rates, petrol price was, on Sunday, hiked by 27 paise to Rs 73.62.

Meanwhile, in Guwahati city of Assam, the petrol prices have touched an astronomical Rs 75.53, one of the highest in recent times.

Price of diesel also was increased by 18 paise (to Rs 66.74 per litre) in Delhi.

This is the sixth straight daily increase after the attacks and has taken the cumulative price hike since September 17 to Rs 1.59 per litre in case of petrol and Rs 1.31 for diesel.

It may be mentioned here that global oil prices have shot up after the missile strikes on key oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, that disabled 5 per cent of the global supply.

It is believed that the effect of the attacks will be felt for many more months to come.

However, Saudi Arabia has assured the Indian Government that it will meet all it's commitments.
