Kokrajhar: As many as smuggled 38 cattle heads were yesterday seized by police in Kokrajhar district of Assam. The vehicle carrying the cattle has been detained and 5 persons have been arrested in relation to the smuggling of the bovines.
Based on source information, a police team at Srirampur under Kokrajhar detained a container truck bearing registration No. WB91-3014 loaded with 38 cattle and apprehended five accused persons," stated an official.

Five persons -- Aleem Khan from UP), Sadek Ali and Turab Ali from West Bengal, and Kaleem Uddin and Haril Yadav from Bihar -- were apprehended in connection to the smuggling.
More investigations are underway.
