Assam police confirms ULFA involvement in Tingrai market grenade blast, both accused arrested

MARGHERITA: The Assam police have arrested both the accused today involved in Digboi's Tingrai market grenade blast case and confirmed ULFA's involvement.

The police have recovered the black color motor Pulsar motor cycle used in the blast as well.

Earlier today, the police had arrested Hiren Gogoi alias Robin alias Monu s/o Sri Bipul Gogoi of Lakhipathar with the bike.

later in the afternoon, the police had been able to arrest the second accused Ranjit Changmai.

As Assam police informed, the blast was carried out at the directions of Senior ULFA leaders based outside Assam. In last week ULFA-I had issued a letter clarifying their non-involvement in the grenade blast.

It was also mentioned that both of the accused have active ULFA connections.

"Each lie, each false story repudiated by facts. That’s Assam Police for you," wrote special DGP K.V. Singh on Twitter.
