Guwahati, September 14, 2019:

Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit spoke on the importance of forging political alliances in the Bodoland Territorial Area Council (BTAD), while speaking to Inside Northeast earlier today.

While speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 3rd exclusive fbb retail outlet in Guwahati city, Daimary said, "We are expecting good results, and the BPF will perform wee. There is no question about that."

However, he cautioned that since there are many political parties on the scene at the moment, it is necessary to forge political alliances. "There is a lot of division now, and many political parties have sprung up, which is why we feel that we need to ally ourselves with other parties to fight the elections

Earlier, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary had exhorted the UPPL party to contest the upcoming elections together in a bid to defeat Lok Sabha MP Naba Kr. Sarania's party, which will make its debut in the elections next year. Mohilary also promised the position of Rajya Sabha MP to Brahma. Moreover, Hagrama had announced that the AGP, BPF, and BJP parties will contest the 2020 BTAD elections together.

However, UG Brahma had turned down the BTC Chief's proposal. Speaking on the issue, UG Brahma said, “There is no question of the UPPL merging with the BPF.”

Brahma however, admitted that there was a discussion between the BPF and UPPL but both the parties did not have any discussion relating to the seat-sharing ratio as it is being claimed in the media.
