Probe ordered into youth suicide

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 9, 2018

Kamrup (Urban) district administration has ordered a magisterial probe into the alleged suicide of a youth of Panikhaiti area near here after reportedly fleeing custody from Noonmati Police station on Wednesday. The magistrate has been asked to submit his report within seven days.

Meanwhile, four police officials and five home guards o Noonmati Police State have been given reserve close notice in connection with the incident.

The incident led to public uproar in Panikhaiti area with many alleging foul play by the police. The youth Chandan Bharali was picked up the police from Panikhaiti on Tuesday on the charge of blackmailing few ladies.
