Prominent Boro writer Pradip Raja Brahma Passes Away

Kokrajhar, July 30, 2019:

Sahitya Akademi awardee and well-known Boro writer Pradip Raja Brahma died this morning at a hospital in Kokrajhar, Assam after a brief illness.

He was in his late 70s. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and a son. He won the Sahitya Akademi in 2008 in Bodo language for his translation work "Sni-Bifan Ramayan" which is translated from 'Krittibasa Ramayana' (Bengali) poetry by Mahakavi Krittibasa.

He will be cremated at his Patakata residence in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district.

Various individuals, organizations and leaders including Boro Sahitya Sabha, and student organization ABSU have expressed grief over the death of the writer and poured their condolences and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
