Guwahati, January 19, 2019:

The people of Titabor residing in Assam-Nagaland border areas have burnt effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi while protesting the amendment of the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The protest has been supported by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti.

It may be mentioned that the people in many districts of the state such as Demow, Tinsukia, Kokrajhar, Kakopathar, etc have been protesting against the controversial Bill . The people of the regions have threatened the BJP-led government that the people will not accept Bangladeshi-Hindu immigrants at any cost.
