Protest against VC in Assam University

Guwahati (Assam), September 28, 2018:

The vice chancellor of Assam University in Barak Valley is mired in a controversy after he had allegedly withdrawn leave granted to a faculty member Samira Behera against whom an investigation is pending.

Protesting against this act, the members of the Assam University Students’ Union locked up the chamber of the VC on Thursday.

The students staged a protest against the withdrawal of leave granted to Behera against whom a case of plagiarism and illegally promoting himself is pending. The protestors held the VC responsible for the withdrawal of leave to Behera on September 19.
