Five arrested in rape case of mentally ill girl in Nogaon

Guwahati, March 9, 2019: Mentally ill girl rape case

The Nagaon Police on Saturday arrested five persons from different locations of the district for allegedly raping a mentally ill girl in Halodhibari of Kachua in the Nagaon district of Assam.

Out of five, Kampur Police arrested two persons from Kachua and the three were arrested in Nagaon bypass. The prime accused is absconding. The arrested persons have been identified as Mofidul Islam, Mubarak Ali, Saidul Islam, Abdul Barek and Ziyabur Rahman.

As per reports, the girl was abducted by a hawker on March 4 from her house and was raped by seven boys in a paddy field, located 10 km away from her home.

An FIR was lodged at the Kachua Police Station.
