Renowned Assamese actress Chetana Das’s husband Bimalananda Das passes away

Bimalananda Das, husband of renowned Assamese actress Chetana Das passed away in Guwahati on Thursday. Das died at 1.56 pm at the GNRC hospital in Guwahati.  

The renowned Assamese actress Chetana Das along with her husband Bimalananda Das have tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus. The duo had been admitted to the GNRC hospital on August 27. Initial reports said that both husband and wife are in a "stable" state. Later his oxygen saturation came down to 52 percent. Das was immediately shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was given plasma therapy. Battling with his life for over a week, Das finally succumbed to the disease.

Das was associated with the cultural world. The Assam Cultural Journalists Association has condoled the death of Das and expressed grief over the death of Bimalananda Das.
